Messaging & consent
Here's exactly how sharing a message on TruWrd works.
TruWrd is a messaging app where every message is typed by a real human. When a TruWrd user wants to reach someone who isn't on TruWrd yet, the app helps them send a single, sender-initiated invite by SMS. The screens below are exact recreations of the in-app flow.
The sender opens "New conversation" and personally enters the recipient's name and phone number. Nothing is imported or sent automatically — the sender types the number themselves.
New conversation
Enter a number. If they're not on TruWrd yet, we'll help you invite them.
Name (optional)
Phone number
In-app "New conversation" screen: the sender enters a contact's name and phone number by hand.
If the number isn't on TruWrd, the sender is shown a preview screen titled "They're not on TruWrd yet. Here's exactly what they'll receive." The invite is only sent when the sender explicitly taps to send it.
Invite Jordan
They're not on TruWrd yet. Here's exactly what they'll receive.
Every message on TruWrd is typed by a real human — never pasted, never AI-generated. Someone wanted to reach you the honest way.
Text message preview
In-app invite preview screen: the sender sees their own name and the full invite, exactly as the recipient will receive it, before sending.
The recipient receives a single text message. This is the exact message format, as shown in the in-app preview above:
"Alex" is replaced by the sender's display name, and the link is a one-time invite link. Every invite SMS ends with "Reply STOP to unsubscribe."
Consent is sender-initiated and one-time. An invite SMS is only ever sent because a specific person chose to share a specific message with a specific phone number they entered themselves. TruWrd never imports contact lists or sends bulk or marketing messages.
Opting out is permanent and immediate. The recipient can opt out at any point by replying STOP, and no further messages will be sent to that number.
No follow-ups. After the one invite, no further messages are sent to that number unless the recipient separately chooses to join TruWrd themselves.
